The ICCT TAYTAY PHOENIX pep squads soared high making them the overall champion for this year’s cheer dance competition held in Marikina Sports Park. Colorful props and costumes were shown by 15 of ICCT’s fiercest pep squad.
The team took home the championship awards, followed by the ICCT SUMULONG STALLION, and for the first time the COLLEGE of EDUCATION bravely fought their way bagging the third place.
The victory of Phoenix pep squad somehow clattered the whole MSP’s grounds because they were able to snach the crown from the ISHTM TEAM who had reigned for almost 4years in this category. In a phone interview with phoenix pep squad team captain Adrian Mata, 19, (BSHRM), he said, “the total secret of our team upon winning is the desire and strong determination we have. And as their team captain, I do also serve as their motivation. We also aimed to win which in fact is also every team’s goal.” As part of their preparation for the competition, they together attended Sunday mass and prayed ardently for their success and of the whole activity.
”We would also like to pay credit to the ISHTM SARIMANOK pep squad for making it all the way to the Hall of Fame, kung hindi dahil sa kanila, hindi po kami mag-eevolve to our better selves. We really idolized them, alam po nila yun dahil isa sila sa tinitingalang pep squad sa buong ICCT COLLEGES,” he added. Each of us has our own potentials, trust and you will succeed.
“Fearlessly soaring high” – that’s the spirit of this year’s cheer dance competitors that never failed to enchant us with their performances and make us proud to be ICCTinians. Will next year be another victorious year for the Phoenix pep squad? Or will there may be other team quads up above the sky who would clash with them and steal their crown? Watch out for the next ICCT INTRAMURALS. (Joseph Breiz)
