As part of the 20th Founding Anniversary Celebration of ICCT Colleges, the Institution held its “ERSI” Musical Concert at Marikina City Sports Park last August 22. The event was organized by the Special Projects Office headed by VP Darwin Dulay in collaboration with GMA Network and Smart Communications.
Opening ceremonies were done with the ICCT Diversity performing the Doxology, the National Anthem Video provided by GMA and Rizal Hymn and ICCT Hymn. The Taytay Campus, which won this year’s cheer dance competition were the first to perform .
Afterwards the Intramurals 2012 Awarding Ceremonies happened, announcing the winners of the events during the Intramural – Sportsfest.
Then Chairman and College President Dr. William S. Co gave a welcome message. This was followed by the production number of Societas Hotellanos, a song number by Ms. Jamille Navarro, an acapella piece by the ICCT Rhythm & Voices Chorale, a Cultural/Contemporary Dance production from by the Ang Nunu Dance Troupe of the Regional
Pilot School for the Arts, a Modern Dance piece by the ICCT Yin Yang HD and a Medley Number by the ICCT Diversity. After that, 20 limited edition ICCT Backpacks were given to the lucky winners.
Ample of people waited for the GMA Kapuso Talents to perform as the network’s Station ID was played. First to perform was the boy group Down to Mars, followed by the love team Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona singing the theme song for their latest movie “One Last Summer”. Solenn Heusaff performing her latest single “Fire” and then followed by Aljur Abrenica. The turn-over ceremony of P250,000 check and Deed of Donation was presided by Dr. William S. Co with several GMA executives in attendance, Ma. Teresa Pacis (AVP Corporate Affairs)
and Mr. Jeffrey G. Balde (Executive Director of GMA KFI) and Mr Nelson Canlas, GMA News Showbiz reporter.
The Smart-ICCT SIM Card was released in conjunction with the re-launch of the Smart-ICCT Infoboard. The last set of performances were done by the band ITCHYWORMS which entertained the crowd.
The audience who watched the concert in full was pleased with the set of guests who performed in the musical concert. Much can be said about how excited the audience was after seeing their favorite artists onstage. The East Grandstand of the Sports Park went full in a few moments as the audience gets bigger.
Indeed, it has been a great night for fellow ICCTinians and their relatives alike, as we celebrated the institution’s 20th year in existence. “Er Si,” or the number 20 in Chinese, is a celebrated milestone for the institution. (Marlon Velez & Jay Paul Agonoy)
