HRM Skills Olympics 2011 the Grand Showdown @ SM Taytay


Once again, the International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management showcased their awesomeness with the ever successful HRM Skills Olympics, organized by the Special Projects Office last November 29 at the Event Center of SM City Taytay.  With their skills fully charged with enthusiasm, HRM and Tourism students from the  different ICCT Campuses competed in various contests namely, table skirting, napkin folding, bartending, cake decorating, cocktail drinks mixing , International Wedding Set-up Competition and Food Art & Garnishing Competiton. Ms. Noelyn Villarosa, ISHTM Dean said: “The ISHTM was once not ready to showcase our skills, but now, we are fully equipped, and are hoping to be competitive not only inside our institution but even outside ICCT”.  Jay Talguit from Binangonan Campus won the 1st place for the table skirting competition, while Aireen Valentino from San Mateo Campus and Michael Mendoza from Binangonan Campus bagged the 2nd and 3rd places respectivelySharlene Longino from Binangonan Campus, Ronabelle Castro from Sumulong Campus, and mary Ann Billones from Cainta Campus won the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for the table napkin folding competition, respectively.  Rodel Pabalan from Cainta Campus, Julian Kristopper Bagon from Cainta Campus, and Aaron John Paul Buendia showcased their bartending grooves and won the Bartending Competition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places respectively.  While in the Food Art and Garnishing Competition, Fernando Dian Sopena from Binangonan Campus won 1st place together with Karina Jane Bacay from Binangonan Campus and Dario Fortin from Taytay Campus won 2nd and 3rd places respectively. A joined force, Jackelyn Cabanang and Bernadeth Devera, both from Cainta Campus, won the Cake Decoration Contest while Alwin Offemaria, Ezekiel Ocampo and Marvin Adoro, representatives from Sumulong Campus, placed second and representatives from Binangonan Campus namely Kristine Dian Sopera, Ricky Santisima and Maria Cristine Geloa placed third.
