Philippine Visual Arts Festival : The Rizal Experience

February 17 this year, the Philippine Visual Arts Festival was launched at the Event Center in SM Taytay.
Said event was sponsored by National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA), Committee on Visual Arts (CVA), SM Taytay, Thunderbird Resorts Binangonan, TV 5 etc. Rizal Provice is now the Culture Capital of the Philippines as rescognized by the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) following the Bohol in the list. This is a one-week-long event held within the Rizal Province. The events were exhibits, conferences, workshops, council meetings and dinner parties with Mayor Gerry Calderon, Mayor Nilo Leyble and Mayor Boyet Ynares. The event is intended to collect funds to support the artists all over the country.

“We need to support our artists in terms of preserving our culture by showcasing the artist’s talents thru paintings.” Mr. Boy Abunda said. Mr. Boy Abunda is the guest speaker representing NCCA, with his co guest speakers such as Ms. Andrea Bautista Ynares (the festival host), Mr. Nemiranda (Head, NCCA Committee on Visual Arts / Festival Director) Mayor Joric Gacula etc. “With this kind of event, the public would be awakened regarding to the problems of most Filipino artists which is lack of funds for producing art galleries or art shows for the ublic.” Mr. Felipe M. de Leon, Jr. Said.

Artists from including Angono, Binangonan, Taytay, Bicol, Bohol, Quezon Province etc. showcased their masterpieces where their number one purpose is to call the attention of the public. “It is an honor to be invited here where all of the artists gathered all at the same time and place.” Mr. Hergil Baloloy said with his team representing Angono.
Mr. Boy Abunda toured and walked around to buy the three paintings which he liked, highlighting said event. Truly, this is one great opportunity for the Rizal Province to promote the culture and arts of the every Filipino artists.
